These following tour operators and producers of Tequila will arrange to take visitors through the process of making tequila, from harverst to fermentation to distillation to bottling. Some distillery tours are open to the public and some distilleries require an appointment. They may also charge a fee for the tours. Hacienda San José del Refugio - Casa Herradura - located in Amatitan, just 17 miles from Guadalajara. Open to the public with daily tours that will let you appreciate the overflowing beauty of the natural location. La Cofradia - "We've been trying to put in an ambiance here, something different from the typical distillery," said Jose Hermosillo Brooks, founder of the Casa Noble tequila brand. The distillery offers free tours, which include a complimentary tequila-tasting session. The museum charges a nominal fee to offset its costs. Mundo Cuervo
A fantastic journey through the amazing "La Rojeña" distillery of José Cuervo. Tours are held Monday through Saturday, every hour on the hour, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., and Sundays from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Address: 75 Calle José Cuervo, Tequila, Jalisco. Phone: 52 (374) 742-2170.

National Museum of Tequila (Museo Nacional de Tequila)
located on Luis Navarro, is a well-designed display of photos, drawings and artifacts in several rooms detailing the history of tequila. One legend holds that the drink was discovered when lightning struck an agave plant, and the resulting sweet smell and taste agreed with the area's indigenous people. Sauza® Tequila Distillery Tour
Experience the magic first hand. Come to Tequila, Mexico and see how Sauza® Tequilas are made. Join our fascinating guided tours that take you on the journey from agave plant to the drink in your hand. The tours begin at the picturesque Rancho El Indio, where you can assist a genuine ‘jimador’ while he harvests an agave. It continues in La Perseverancia Distillery where the entire tequila-making process is demonstrated: from agave reception to milling, hydrolysis, fermentation, distillation, aging and bottling. After an interesting talk on the production process, the finest freshly mixed tequila drinks will await you at La Quinta Sauza.

Sauza Family Museum - located near the zocalo and costing less than $3 to tour. The Sauza Museum is essentially a collection of memorabilia, including paintings, old photos and ancient tools, in what was once the family home. The Sauzas sold their operation in 1988, although Guillermo Erickson Sauza, a fifth-generation family member, recently began producing his own brand, Tequila Los Abuelos, using traditional techniques.

Spirit of Jalisco Tequila Distillery Tours - Here is your shot at becoming a Tequila expert! These four day, three night trips will take guests to some of the most celebrated distilleries in the state of Jalisco, Mexico. On our tours, you'll see it all: walking down cobblestone colonial streets, meeting jimadors (agave farmers), enjoying authentic Mexican cuisine and hospitality, and of course, tasting Tequila with Master Distillers and our expert guides.

Tequila Express - Train ride to Amatitan, complete with Mariachis, snacks, drinks and tequila, then a tour of Hacienda San José del Refugio, followed by a buffet lunch. Tours operate Saturday and Sunday throughout the year, and Friday night tours are expected to begin this month.

Tequila Quiote Distillery Tour - Guided tours of the Tequila Quiote distillery are available. The tours guides are very cordial and information during the tours. You will be allowed to purchase products from the factory at the security station at the entrance.

Tequila Tour - In this tequila tour we will be visiting two of the most important places in the area. First is the Zapopan area of Guadalajara. Next is Tequila, Jalisco, a Pueblo Magico, just outside of Guadalajara, where we will observe and experience the history of our national drink, Tequila.
